My Relaxed Wedding Photography Approach

A wedding day is all about being surrounded by those who you love, and who love you back. I want my photographs to show you that, every time you look at them.
Relaxed.
Natural photographs make the best photographs. As your photographer, we will be spending a lot of time together. It’s why I love to meet all my couples in person if possible well in advance of the wedding. To discuss your day, get to know each other and to get you used to being in front of the camera but without giving it a second thought. I offer an engagement shoot with every wedding I photograph, as they are great for all of the above reasons.
Unobtrusive.
Your wedding day is the first step of your new family. I will quietly document and capture every aspect of your day, show-casing all of the hard work you have put into creating your perfect start to married life. The emotions of you and your loved ones, preserved for you to relive, again and again. And don’t worry if you are camera shy, most people are, but I promise you will forget the camera is there after a short while. Trust me.
Story-telling.
At the heart of every wedding is the story of two people , who fell in love with one another. Let me tell that story. This is your wedding day and it is cliche but it really is the best day of your life. Another cliche but it is also the fastest day you will ever live through, its over in the blink of an eye. You will be having so much fun, you will miss some of those precious moments that are gone in an instant. I will be there to capture them.
My style is mostly reportage or documentary photography. I document your day from beginning to end with minimum intervention. However that doesn’t mean I am hiding away using a long lens. I will be up close to really capture all the emotions and feelings of the day. But as we will have gotten to know each other, you won’t even notice me. And your friends and family will see how relaxed you are and that will rub off on them as well. Which is all brilliant news for me, allowing me to really capture all the magic of your day.
One of the big things people really worry about is posing. ‘Posing’ gets a really bad reputation but it really shouldn’t. My goal is to get the best images of you. Most people photograph best when they don’t even know they are being photographed. But sometimes, just a little bit of direction can transform an image. But thats it, unless you love the camera and want to be told what to do! Normally after a few drinks :) Another reason to come on an engagement shoot with me, you will be glad you did.
