Pentillie Castle Wedding Photographer

Olivia & Matt’s Celebration at Pentillie Castle, on the Banks of the Tamar in Cornwall

Sometimes things happen. And sometimes, those things can be really trying, especially when you are due to be getting married in a few days time and your wedding photographer contacts you to say they cannot attend your wedding anymore! This is exactly the position Olivia and Matt found themselves in. But I truly believe these things happen for a reason and it will all work out as it was supposed to.

So when I was asked if I was free to step in, I was happy to help despite being given scant details about the wedding or the couple involved, only that the wedding was in 4 days time.

So, I said to pass on my details and later arranged to speak to Olivia and Matt who were obviously a bit stressed out to say the least. I did my best to put their minds at ease and I was booked. And I am so glad that I was free!

A Stunning Cornwall Venue – Pentillie Castle on the Tamar

Pentillie Castle is set in a huge estate nestled on the bank of the River Tamar, on the Cornish side but only a few miles from Plymouth and the Tamar Bridge. And what a sensational place it is! The grounds are just stunning, I could literally spend days there exploring and finding new locations to shoot in. And the actual Castle itself is also extremely picturesque and is available as an exclusive, luxury hire.

I always like to arrive early for full day weddings so that i can get my bearings, meet the venue co-ordinator or wedding planner and just to get settled in. Rachel who was the wedding co-ordinator was excellent and was all over it! She was also great when it came to taking us out in the estate defender for a little photo safari around the grounds following the ceremony down at The Boat house, set right next to the riverbank.

Real Moments, Real Emotions – A Day Full of Joy

The whole day was just brilliant and it was a real pleasure capturing all the moments, like their daughter pulling Matt’s buttonhole flowers apart during their vows and the fun umbrella shoot we did with the wedding party at the front of the castle. We had a great time and I really enjoyed their speeches, you could really feel the love in the room!

After getting their full gallery, Matt left me this great review “Chris was the best photographer ever! He replaced our previous photographer who cancelled on us a few days before and Chris basically went through everything we needed to calm us down before the day. On the day he was an absolute dream. He hid behind the scenes but produced the most stunning photos. We owe everything to Chris for making our day so special. Thank you so much, you absolute legend.

Ps. The champagne shots were insane. Can’t recommend him enough for your big wedding day!”

Now a Recommended Supplier and Wedding Photographer at Pentillie Castle

I loved capturing this wedding and Pentillie is now a firm favourite venue of mine in Cornwall. I am happy to say that following this wedding, I am now a recommended supplier at Pentillie, so if you are planning a wedding there, or anywhere, just give me a shout and we can get planning your big day together!
